How do you prepare for a family trip to Disney?

We are heading to Disney World this weekend for my mother's birthday.  The kids are getting so excited, counting down the days. How do you prepare for a family trip to Disney?

Since we live in Florida it would be easy to spend every weekend in Orlando vacationing at Disney but I'm raising a family, working as a Nurse, publishing a monthly magazine and so much more. So we can only venture there when we plan a great celebration.

My top Five things that I will bring to Disney are...

1.  Our Reservation information for the hotel.
2.  Several Days of clothes for all the family, swimsuits, and toiletries.
3.  The kids Disney Pin Trading Lanyards.
4.  My phone and my daughter's camera.
5.  Hats to protect us from too much sun.
My little Liz Princess Art as a baby in 2006, we took her to Animal Kingdom.

One year we went to Disney and made fun Disney shirts.

Next week I will have new pictures from our trip.  Can't wait to see the magic of Disney and enjoy a fun family vacation!  Please leave me a comment.  Also, enter the giveaway, a beautiful custom designed tote bag from Dolly Mack Designs.

PS.  Tomorrow I will be participating in my first co-hosted Bloghop with Katie from Dysfuntion Junction.  Please stop back by tomorrow to join us and linkup! :-)

    1. Thanks Sukhmandir! I didn't know much about trading pins until we went one year and got the kids a few and then you can trade disney pins with cast members and special ones are only out at certain times. The kids loved it!

  4. When my daughter was looking for a college, we went to visit UCF in Orlando. Students get a substantial discount on buying tickets to all of the theme parks; so we found two students and paid them to buy us four discounted tickets. It was a win win because we paid less overall for tickets and the college kids made some money. My daughter is now a sophomore there. Give her a call, and I bet she and some of her friends would meet you in the very public student union and get you discounted tickets for a small fee.

If interested, email me: jlanskyATcomcastDOTnet It sounds goofy (pun intended), but I'm not kidding. We saved a lot of money this way.

  5. I've never taken all of my children at once. I need to plan a trip for all of us. Maybe this summer. It's a shame to live so close and never go. I hope you have an awesome time.

  6. Great tips! I have never been to Disney, but I dream of going one day. No idea if that dream will ever come true though....living in Kansas it is so expensive to even fly to Florida

    1. Theresa, I could go back as many times as they would allow me:) I once wanted to work there in their Nursing dept. They have an amazing place called Celebration where most of the members live. The fun thing is they are always adding and changing things to make it fresh and new! Have a fun week!
