Moon Over Edisto Book Review

I love reading and when I read the storyline of this book, I knew I would want to review it.  I used to live in North Carolina so when I get a chance to read a story about southern living I always look forward to the adventure.  What also caught my eye was the authors name, Beth Webb Hart.  My connection was made and I was intrigued to see what kind of story she had to offer.
“Moon Over Edisto is a rich, endearing, can’t-stop-reading book about what matters most, the power of love to transform the human heart.”
Dorothea Benton Frank, bestselling author of Sullivan’s Island

The past has come knocking on Julia’s door. Can she summon the courage to answer betrayal with love?
Julia’s best friend, Marney, broke up her parents’ marriage years ago. Now Marney shows up at her Manhattan apartment, asking the impossible—come home to Edisto Island to care for the half-sisters and half-brother she has never known. Marney, recently widowed, has lung cancer. There’s no other family to care for the children while she’s in the hospital following surgery.
Julia loathes Marney. But if she doesn’t step in, her own mother—who has never gotten over the divorce—will be called upon to take care of the children. So she heads to South Carolina to keep the peace.
On Edisto, she begins to reconnect with the place and the people and she’s been running from her whole adult life. There’s the local doctor who once stole a kiss from her on that very beach, and the siblings she’s never known—especially the sister with selected mutism named Etta who’s the keeper of nearly every family secret . . . including the very one that just might bind-up Julia’s long-since shattered heart.
I hope you take time to read Moon Over Edisto, I really was captivated by the story and it touched my heart.
Please leave me a comment and if you have a favorite book you like to share! Be sure to also check out this months giveaway, a beautiful designer Heart necklace from Sassy Lemonade.

What my teenager wants for his birthday. WW

My son is officially a teenager today! I talked to him about what he wanted for his birthday and he decided to just have a family party. We might go to the movies over the weekend but that is still undecided. I asked him what he wanted for a present and he said, "Cash!" Why would I give him cash? He said it was because then he can go out and buy whatever he wanted.

I've officially joined the moms with teenagers!! :)

Please leave me a comment and if you have a teenager, share some tips with me!  If you participate in Wordless Wednesday than linkup.  Check out this months giveaway, a beautiful designer Heart necklace from Sassy Lemonade.

3 Ways to Support Each Other

I went for a walk with my in-laws, husband and family at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary here in Naples, Florida a few days ago.  I really enjoy walking along the boardwalk to see the wildlife and nature.  It's very peaceful and a great way to spend some quality time with my family.  Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary occupies approximately 13,000 acres in the heart of the Corkscrew Watershed in Southwest Florida, part of the Western Everglades.  They routinely change art work inside the visiting center and this month they had a unique artist named Olivia Bouler.  She started drawing and painting when she was 11 years old.  She wanted to help support the Audubon society and asked if she could contribute her artwork to help raise money.
The first thing I noticed about this bird was the upside down hearts. <3

What a great way to share her talents and help raise money to support her love of Nature.

This month's Heartbeat Magazine February Edition is out.  Here is the latest Cover.  Enjoy!

Silver Metal Heart w/ Red Rhinestones
Silver Metal Chain 18 inches
Lobster Clasp

a Rafflecopter giveaway
One day I was browsing Tori Spellings' Instagram account and a comment from Sassy Lemonade caught my eye.  I clicked onto her account and saw her fabulous jewelry and began learning more about her.  This is where my friendship with Shannon Flowers began.  February is her birthday month and what a delight to have her as our featured artist of the month!  She also is providing an absolutely adorable Heart Necklace Giveaway to the Heartbeat Magazine Readers.  Be sure to enter at the end of this post!

1. What inspired you to become a jewelry designer?
I would make jewelry when I needed a little something extra to wear or give as gifts. They seemed to always be a hit, so I figured why not try selling to see where that road leads too. I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love. I might be a little obsessed with making jewelry...
you’ll find me putting something together every free chance I get!

2. How did you choose your company name?
I wanted a name that reflected more like my Personality, Sassy & Sweet.

3. What’s your favorite jewelry to design?
I love mixing necklaces up by layering chains and ribbons, then adding fun and sassy charms.

4. What are the most popular items in your shop?
Side Anchor Necklaces were one of the first items I started selling and have been popular ever since.
