6 Healthy Habits that will benefit any Mother on Mother's Day

Simply Smile and Enjoy Life!

When do you take a minute to really breathe?  Research says that listening to classical music and dimming the lights can help support your breathing.  Taking a nice deep breath and yawning can increase the oxygen to your body and make you feel better.

It's funny to me to think that exercise boosts energy.  Exercise can be tiring but in the long run the benefits are amazing.  With regular physical activity you improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance.  And when your heart and lungs work more efficiently, you have more energy!

Don't argue, love through your disagreements.  A study by Ronald Glazer and Jan Kiecolt-Glaser, in which couples were observed during disputes showed that a more loving, positive interaction had higher immediate immune function.  Dr. Gonzaga says, the key to positive conflict resolution is productively engaging in conversation.

Live for today.  Sometimes we get so caught up in our past that we aren't paying attention to our present day.  Stop thinking for a moment and look around you at the many small blessings you have in your life.

Good communication is essential to a good relationship.  If we start with a simple daily prayer, it opens up our hearts.  Some people pray in the morning to start their day and others finish their night with a prayer habit.

"Changing habits is fundamental to changing your life. Everything you repeatedly do, say and think is as a direct result of your habits.  To enjoy permanent, positive change in your life, you must change your negative beliefs and their associated habits," says Tania Kotsos.  Believe in possibilities!

  1. Beautiful little girl and lovely post. Thank you for sharing with us.

    1. Thanks Dawn:) You have a great blog. I appreciate the comment!

  2. So wonderfully written, we often forget to take those important moments as a Mom's and relax. I am guilty of over-thinking and analyzing life and forget to rely on God. Many times I go to bed saying Thank-you for getting me through this day. But I think I need to start waking in prayer to start my day off w/my feet headed in his direction instead of mine.

    1. Thank Corey! I sometimes spend to much time on my computer and my kids tell me to spend time with them:) Have a sweet upcoming Mother's Day!

  3. You are so right, Nicole! All these suggestions are wonderful!

You know, I used to exercise everyday (until my kids kept getting sick from going to the kids club at the gym). Women would say - I don't get how you do that.

My question for them was - I don't get how you not do it.

Exercise is essential to your health and well being. It really is. Sometimes, you just need an hour away from the kids to burn all the negativity going on in a Mother's life. But then again, I choose to be ever present. I don't resort to alcohol to relieve my stresses. The mind altering affects takes you spiritually away from our Heavenly Father. Who wants that?

Plus, our Heavenly Father designed our bodies to be exercised.

    Thanks for the excellent post!

    1. I have been exercising daily lately but eating more! I going to pray about finding the right balance! Thanks for your sweet comment!

  4. I'm breathing. Sometimes having the 3 kids under the age of 4 gets a bit much. Like when there is one cookie left and they ALL want it! I break it into 3 bits and then no one wants it! I guess I sore the cookie then.. lol.. kids.

Thank you for joining us in the Mothers day blog hop!

  5. Great tips! When my kids get upset I make them take several deep breathes until they calm down and I often forget to do this myself! Thanks so much for sharing! -Monika

  6. You totally got me hooked with the Love one, although they are all great advises.
