Making a Washi Tape Rose, WW

I've been having so much fun with my Washi Tape lately!  I was watching a YouTube video and the lady added a beautiful rose to her craft.  I was impressed with how easy it was to change the whole look and feel of her box she made and so I decided to try and make my own Washi tape rose.  Here are a few pictures I took while creating my rose.
First, I lined up strips of Washi tape to create the pattern I wanted.
Second, I created a template and cut out all my petals.
Third, I strung them all together using my twist tie.

Lastly, I curved up the sides and rotated them to make the impression of a rose and placed it on my latest card design.
Do you have a new craft you've made lately?  I'd love to hear about it!  Be sure to leave your blog link for the WW Blog hop!

What reminds you that it's time for Halloween?

I have been seeing many colors lately that remind me that Fall is coming and that the kids will be excited to celebrate Holiday parties like Halloween.  I love seeing my kids get dressed up in different characters that they can be for the night.  We usually visit our local church, they have an awesome Harvestfest event and then we go to the local neighborhood so the kids can get candy door to door.

Today, I'm participating in the Sharing is Caring Blog Hop, #SharingisCaringBlogHop.

This post is part of the Sharing is Caring Halloween Blog Hop hosted by Life With LovebugsPam’s Party & Practical Tips, and A Spectacled Owl!

What reminds you of Halloween?  Here are a few things I found that reminded me we are getting closer to that fun filled day.

1.  The beautiful Orange color of this Bird of Paradise.
2.  The brilliant range of colors on my orange roses.
3.  New Candy at the check out counter at Walgreens.

4.  Inside the package, the candy is the perfect reminder it's almost Halloween.
5.  Candy Corn is a holiday tradition.

Are you on overdrive? 3 Ways to Tell

I always can tell when my kids are on overdrive, they fight more, they don't listen, and the simple things that they enjoy aren't as nice.  Sometimes I know I'm on overdrive when I can't remember what I did with my pen or why I just yelled instead of slowly made my request known.

Here are three ways to tell if you are on overdrive...
1.  You don't know what kind of weather is outside today.
I think I see a Heart in the sky!
2.  You haven't seen the latest flowers blooming in your neighborhood.
The wildflowers are so lovely this time of year!
3.  You don't remember what kind of trees you have outside.
Palm Trees captured my eye, there is just something magical about them!
So, I hope you will take a few minutes, and relax.  Overdrive is great to get things accomplished at times but too much and your headed for a disaster!

What ways do you cope with overdrive?

What Do We Teach Each Other Without even Knowing?

"It's the little things done consistently over time, straight from your heart, that actually have the greatest impact." - Unknown
What a great teaching from my Instagram friend @heathersanto
I taught my daughters friend how to make a heart with her hands and shadow.
The Dad's were teaching their boys the fun game of basketball!
My Instagram friend @sugarpaperdesigns, she has the most amazing papercrafts and I love all her beautiful photos!  This one captured my heart <3
The kids were showing us the way to the pool!  Teaching us a new path to follow.
They found the pool entrance.  Teaching us patience, we almost get to swim soon!
The bridge provided a great view of the area and we were taught that alligators sometimes are in the lake.
A simple reminder of stopping to view the flowers is what I teach my kids everyday!

What did you teach today?

Random sightings of beauty and hearts, ww entry

How many times do you randomly stop and look for beauty and hearts?  I see them all over, I guess it's because that is what I love!  What is your favorite sight to see?
The Beauty of a Red Flower I found on my walk to see my nephew.
The beauty of an Angel in the Seattle Children's Hospital Gift Shop.
I found these heart sunglasses, I've been looking for them for a while!
The beauty of a sunburst behind swirly clouds.
I see my reflection, my Sister-In-Law Tina and I went on her first outing from the hospital and we found this Heart photo!

Have you ever spent time in Seattle? WW entry

I am spending the week in Seattle, Washington to be a support for my nephew Austin that has surgery scheduled at Seattle Children's Hospital.  We can see the Space Needle from his window. He has lots of family praying and believing for him!  One of the things I love about Seattle is there are so many beautiful flowers in bloom this Spring.  Have you ever been to Seattle?

Dandelion's are so pretty in the sunlight!
Lovely Architecture at the Seattle Children's Hospital
Beautiful Seattle Sunset out Austin's Window
Out for a walk around the hospital and I found this heart on the window!
Love the Purple flowers on this tree!
Looks like snow on this tree!

Do you ever have a case of the I wants? WW entry

Have you ever made a list of what you want?  I take pictures all the time of what I want.  Then I look back at them for inspiration and hopefully I've gotten a few!  I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day.  I hope you have a sweet one!
See the flowers in the back of that truck!  I want some of those.
I want this cake for Valentine's Day!

Started walking today, I want to burn off some of the granola cookies I ate!
These are my results for today.  I want to increase my miles to at least 3 a day.
These are my two newest apps I downloaded.  I want to learn how to use them better.

I want to create more boards with the new Inspirational Board app.

Please leave me a comment.  Only a few more days left to enter the giveaway, a beautiful custom designed tote bag from Dolly Mack Designs.

PS.  Tomorrow I will be participating in my second co-hosted Bloghop with Katie from Dysfuntion Junction.  Please stop back by tomorrow to join us and linkup! :-)

Six Reasons Heartfelt Moments are better than Chocolate, WW Entry

Since it's the first of the year, I've been sticking to my exercise regime but have had an incredible desire for chocolate. In order to focus my thoughts on other things I found six reasons heartfelt moments are better than chocolate.  Recently I've been using the Calorie Count app to help me track my progress on my iPhone.    Here are my six snaps from this week that have been helpful.
1.  Go take random heartfelt pictures of flowers!  I went to Lowe's and walked out into the flower garden, took some really pretty pictures and thought this flower was a real beauty.
2.  Take a few heartfelt moments and look for hearts in your food.  Here Jake found a heart shaped nugget.
3.  Visit an art gallery to find heartfelt artwork.
4.  Be creative and draw your own hearts on craft paper, then frame them.
5.  Stop to look up in the sky and see the pretty day.
6.  Head outside and see the setting sun.  (I <3 sunsets!)

What are your heartfelt moments this week that have helped you?  Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know!  Happy Wordless Wednesday to those that participate and have a great week to everyone else!
